Her educational background includes

and training in the counseling field. In 1993 she went into private
practice and now offers counseling sessions that include spiritual
practice and yoga psychology.
In addition to her training Elisabeth brings to her teaching a depth of

incorporating inspiration, dedication and joy into her teaching.
The vision of Body Heart & Soul yoga is to include the physical, the
emotional and the spiritual. Yoga means "union" and involves bringing
all aspects of ourselves into harmony for a greater sense of health and
wholeness. As we engage with postures, breath and sound we soften and
release emotional blocks, healing on all levels. Yoga is an invitation
to feel more deeply and live life more fully, awakening to our inner
essence and spirit.
Classes, workshops and retreats may include individual and partner
assisted yoga postures, chanting, breathwork, meditation, contemplation
and reflection, savasana (deep relaxation), toning, and bodyrolling.
Bodyrolling is a technique that involves using balls about the size of a
melon, for the purpose of creating space in the muscles and joints in
preparation for asana. A Teacher Training program is also available.
The Body Heart & Soul Yoga studio is located in downtown Courtenay and
Elisabeth Michielsen is the resident teacher. Other teachers who have
trained with Elisabeth also teach classes at times, and workshops are
offered by visiting teachers. Accommodation is available.
